Proper Heating for a Bearded Dragon Habitats

Bearded Dragons require bright white light throughout the daytime for heading. A red light can be used throughout the night since it provides enough light for observation with disturbing your pet and it will provide ample heat during the night hours. A beard dragon habitat can also utilize an under tank heater. These heaters are one option for keeping the tank snug at night with the heating lamp off, while ceramic heat emitters are another.

Heat is one of the most critical health factors for a well maintained bearded dragon home. The heat needs of a bearded dragon are essential for proper digestion. This makes it essential for a high quality thermometer to be used inside the vivarium. Analog, Round, stick-on, and other non-digital thermometers are not suitable since they do not measure the actual basking position, just the temperature of the air or glass. A digital thermometer with a probe or an Infrared thermometer are two suitable types of thermometers to get an accurate measure of the basking temperature.

These temperatures need to be 105F-110F [basking spot] all through daytime and 60F-80F at night (the upper end of this range for babies, the lower portion of the range for full grown Dragons). If the dragons do not receive the correct heat they will grow to be lethargic and they will consume only small amounts. Eventually, the lack of correct heating will grow to be fatal so it is essential this be handled adequately.
